A Jealous Angel

“Am I not enough?”

Kelvin heard the words and winced.  He didn’t have to look into the angel’s eyes to see the pain in them.  The words he said hit his heart like the knives from the manimals on Monster Island.

Kelvin threw his arms around Fallen’s neck.  “Of course you are.  I never should have brought it up.”

Fallen’s looked down at Kelvin and said, “No, you should not have.”

Kelvin put his head down.  Fallen took him by the chin and lifted him.  “Yet, you are human, and to love fully, with devotion, is difficult with distractions.  But it can be done.”

“I want to move out of my parent’s house.”

“Where will you go?”

“There’s some nice places northeast of town, near the lake.”  Kelvin rubbed Fallen’s arm.  “I want you to come with me.”

“Of course I will go with you, my love.”

“I need a roommate, though.”  Again, Kelvin rubbed Fallen’s arm.  “I was thinking Toxicon – Alex.”

“Will he not be jealous?”

“He’s more concerned about getting me sick.”

“So long as I am with you, you will not be sick.”

Kelvin turned in Fallen’s arms and rested against him.  “Soon, we won’t have to sneak around the club.”

Fallen bent his head and kissed Kelvin on the neck as he held Kelvin.  “You will put that Fold out of your mind, and think only of me.”

Kelvin closed his eyes, enjoying the embrace.
