Interlude

Mike smiled and walked his fingers up Mikael’s bare chest as they lay together in the guest room of Mike and Scott’s penthouse.  Mikael chuckled, caught Mike’s hand and brought it to his lips.

Mike let his fingertips brush Mikael’s lips and he sighed.  He flopped down on the bed, a part of his body always touching Mikeal.  Mike looked up at the skylight, listening to the rain pattering on it.

“Other gods,” he said.  “Other demons.  You know that one of the names of God is Adonai?”

“I have heard,” said Mikael, entwining his fingers in Mike’s.  “Are you going to be born again?”

“No,” laughed Mike.  “Though Fallen gave me some good information about his God and the angels and demons that populate his world.”  Staring up at the ceiling he continued, “I wonder what gods will listen to me.”

“Are you sure that this will work?  The gods are all intertwined into the earth, and what one knows, the other must.”

“It’s either that or figure out a way to trick Hermes.  I’ve already made my quota of tricking gods for a lifetime.”

Mikael looked confused, when Mike said, “Hades.  Nobody tricks Hades and gets away with it.  I’d end up in Tartarus for my troubles.”

“But you were contacted by Hades’ son and warned.  Does Hades not know you are here?”

Mike turned to Mikael.  “Hades would know I’m here, or he wouldn’t have sent Zagreus…Of course.”  He sat up.  He looked around for his clothes, and Mikael sat up.  “Where are you going?”

“To find Zagreus and make a few sacrifices to some gods.”
