Grim rubbed his eyes and pushed himself away from the table. Reports. Paperwork. Verification.
He was exhausted. Forging paperwork was much more difficult than actually filling it out, but he had most of it.
However, he was able to walk into Unity from Until yesterday, stick his tongue out at Doctor White and get some missions. Doctor Black proceeded to tell him that one of his number couldn’t go, therefore thumbed his nose at Grim. Touche’, thought Grim, knowing that someday he was going to walk back in and have a team of people behind him.
What bothered him was not Unity, but Mikael. Something was bothering him, he could tell.
Scott entered the library. Grim could hear him come padding down the stairs and Grim turned to face him. “Hey,” he said.
“Hey,” said Scott. He was dressed for bed, having just taken a shower. “Are you going to bed?”
“I was going to, eventually.” He pushed aside the papers: birth certificates, signed waivers by parents, other parental approval forms. “Think these will pass muster?”
Scott picked up a few, “They look good to me.”
“Let’s hope they don’t interview the kids. Then we’ll be in trouble.” He turned and kissed Scott, pulling him so that he was between himself and the edge of the table. He began to kiss him again, parting his robe, and…
Luckily they got nothing on the papers.
As they went back to the bed, hand in hand, Grim wondered if Mikael was the one who needed comforting right now.
