Drake moves in

Drake Nolan had parked the moving truck against the rear door of the tenement house in Millennium City.  He thought he could get everything done today, but as he stood downstairs, sweating his balls off because of the heat and the intensity of the work, he didn’t think he could get it done alone.

No one was in the house this time around, as college had let out a month before and he was one month away from college starting.   He couldn’t ask for help from the landlord.  He was ready to ask for help from someone, anyone, on the street, but he was very obsessive about his collection and he had already pictured where everything was going.

If he assumed his dragon form, he could carry more boxes and fly up to his apartment, dropping them off through a window, but he didn’t know how everyone would take that, especially here.  His power and abilities could be accepted here – even encouraged, maybe.

He had seen too many firestarters in his travels here, so chose not to use that ability.  Instead, he would use and perfect the skills that his mother had taught him, martial arts skills that she had taught monks and many others throughout the years while she had assumed her human form.

He picked up two other boxes, and started into the apartment.

He did finish about an hour after sunset, and brought the truck to the rental agency to get his deposit back.  Then he went back to his apartment, opened a few boxes and changed into his dragon form to feel the Transformer toys against his scales.

He was home.
