Silver knew that CAL didn’t want her to come back until she had the coding to change her “physiological nature”, but this news was just too important. She did all the required invocations on the group’s secure server, and then she sped straight to CAL’s hub. Part of him was down for maintenance, so she wasn’t welcomed immediately. She waited until that part came back up.
Congratulations are in order, Silver.
She hovered. “Congratulations?”
Walker called me.
“Yes, I asked him to. He wants to get a ring but wants me to be able to wear it here.”
Such a magical item will draw inordinate amounts of attention. He asked for us to take his essence such as how we assisted you, but that cannot be done with magical creatures such as him.
“I know.”
We have informed him that when he is finished with his ring, we will present him with coding. He does not know that it will be half of your coding. Once you are married, he will receive the rest. There will be a back door so if this relationship is terminated, we will corrupt the code so that it will not pingback to you. We will inform you of such invocations if the need arises. Do you wish to be owned by this man?
“I don’t think he sees it that he owns me, it’s like he’s marking me for his own. Like you have.” She tugged on her belt.
Should you not mark him as well?
“Get him a pink fuzzy collar?”
There was no pulse of laughter. CAL was serious. “CAL, did I mark you?”
Yes, you did. You have brought us great…joy. There was a pause. You have changed our coding.
“Then I did the same thing to him.”
He paused again. You continue to do such things, Silver. We ask that you take time, between your betrothal and your marriage. This is so you will know and understand each other, and face trials together. Do you understand this, Silver?
“Yes, I understand.”
Go forth, and enjoy. He then turned her, and sent her on her way. As she left, she turned back, seeing that CAL was utilizing his CPU to the max.
