For the fifth day, he waited.
Knight waited for the man who was his soul mate to return. Where had Mal gone? Why? What did Knight do wrong?
The more Knight thought about it, the angrier he got. He had done nothing, as far as he knew.
He didn’t go into the Den because he felt it wasn’t his place to be. He didn’t go into the pagoda because of the bad memories there, although he hadn’t seen Rak or anyone else there for over two weeks. Everything was dying.
Did Mal go and follow his king to wherever they went? That pissed Knight off even more. What happened to creating their own pard, running their own group? No, instead, he goes surrendering himself to his king, and Xavier, all for what?
Knight realized that he was an Eros first, and the man that he loved came in a distant second. Well, so be it.
This was the fifth day he waited. He would wait no more.
