Game-wise, I’ve pretty much gone through all my alts at least once over the last couple of weeks and did a little house cleaning of the “what the hell were you thinking?” sort.  The list in the last post is pretty accurate still, and I’m trying to hold back from creating any more new alts.  Really trying.  Very hard.

It’s been getting harder and harder to find a team, though.  Either I’m too early (around  6 p.m. Eastern) or just no one’s around (weekends).  Has another game gone F2P and I don’t know about it?  Or is everyone playing Donkey Kong or something?  One explanation could be the summer – most of the players are college kids, and this is right around the time for finals and/or getting ready to leave.  So the rest of us old farts will be left to carry on.

Kael has returned.  He sent postcards to Grim so that he wouldn’t feel so alone.  However, Grim still worried, especially after the last time they were together and how Kael was so injured.  Kael reassured Grim – again – that he’d always come back to him no matter how long he’d be gone.  They then spent the night together and the next morning as well.

Because of that, and because Angry Emerald wasn’t on, I didn’t want to send Grim into the Lion’s Den of Revolutions (the gay bar) alone.  But I did want to bring another character there, so I did.  I pulled out Pale Gold, a character I’d wanted to RP but never had a chance to.  I had a sketchy story for him, and needed to make a conscious effort to have a different attitude than Grim (that’s a habit of mine; I let little bits of Grim peek out of every character once I get to know a group of people).

He met up with Dimitri (forgot the last name) and the two hit it off smashingly.  Dimitri seemed to be immortal, or at least very old; Jake (Pale Gold’s real name) was also shocked at Ryder’s true form.  “It’s a great big world, eh?” chuckled Dimitri.  Jake was also older than most of the patrons there, and he was self-conscious about it.  (I picture him in his early to mid 30′s.)

After Ryder played a song I requested (“Good Feeling” by Flo Rida – I don’t like the rap, but I like the vocal underlay and opening riff), Dimitri and Jake snuck off to do their own thing – spending the night and the morning together.

I was up until after 11, and boy, am I tired.  But it was so worth it.  It’s always worth it to play with good players like that – like Tao, and Emerald, and Grinn.

I’m sorry, it’s been a while.  Doing mostly RP and gaming, not too much excitement here.  Since I have a list, I’ll go through this character by character to make things coherent.

Anilia: Lvl 35, on the Hero path.  No RP

Bitten Goth: lvl 27, toward Vigilante.  No RP

Bitten Dhampir, lvl 28, toward Vigilante.  No RP

Casey Blackfox.  As far as gaming is concerned, he’s pretty much retired with all the Incarnates I needed.  RP: Scott has talked to him about Lord Hino (see his entry later).

Corvus Bane. lvl 35, going to Vigilante, no RP

Dirty Pixie. lvl 25, heading to First Ward unless teams show up.  Desperately needs to be IO’ed.

Digression – rolled on 4/30, got to level 20.  Non-RP.  I realized why I love blasters (electric/psi blaster)

Doc Hoss – lvl 46.  So…slow…  RP, has spoken to Scott once or twice, and Danny once.

Electralight rolled 5/6, level 12.  But is a repeat of Digression, so will probably take her out.

Ges. 28, recently reslotted.  Can solo but it’s painfully slow.

Ground-Swell – rolled on 4/29, level 14.  Unsure what to do with this earth/earth dom.

Grim Construct: 29, remaining as Rogue so technically don’t need to do much with him.

Grimaulkin.  He hangs out mostly every Wednesday night for an hour or so at the Revolutions bar.  He and Danny had a talk, and made Grim think differently about Scott and their open relationship.  So now Grim’s cool with it.

Hino Thunder, level 36.  Ah, Hino.  I at first didn’t want to play with him as in RP because he was a dick.  To tell you the truth, I don’t know how he got to be this high of a level.  Once a toon gets to 30, I don’t want to get rid of them.  RP:
So, Hino appears to Scott to tell him that he needs help.  Well, Scott really doesn’t.  Hino tells him he’s been watching him.  I’m still looking for a good reason.  Hino thinks that Scott is one of those rare breeds of men who are good men, who do good things, and don’t look for rewards.  Still, Hino gives Scott his blessing – though he’s concerned about Mike because Scott called him a Sorcerer.  In the Algonquin language, a sorcerer (Waubuno) is a black magician while a shaman (i.e. Pau-wau, “vision seeker”) is a good magician.  Scott is a good magician.
Well, Hino sent a bird into Grim’s house, but it got fried by the wards.  Hino was bullshit, but Scott calmed him right down.  Hino’s going to send Casey to talk to Mike.  Yep, that’s a story.  Link here (when I write it)
Meanwhile, I’m not sure if I’m going to keep Hino running with Scott or not.  Hino can’t stay corporeal for long, but finds it easier to move around the world as a solid man.  And Hino dies a lot.

Jerry Incubus. lvl 22, No RP since the time in the bar.

Knight of the Road: lvl 28, trying for Rogue, not meant for RP.

Lionus Rex.  I think he’s retired.  TW is working great with Bitten Dhampir and that’s who I think I’d better stick with the TW.  It’s too bad, I had a great story for him.  Maybe I’ll just write the story.

Mr Tinker. Level 33. Still leader of NOA and is going to stay a hero because of it.  No RP.

Maximilian Snow. Level 36, got a respec and vigilante.

Mercenary Sorcerer, level 30.  Desperately needs slotting, so I did some, getting a couple of sets.  But even without the slots, this guy was kicking ass with demons and dark.  I got bored.

Maxtalt.  (i.e. Maxalt) rolled on 4/21, is now level 16.  Non-RP sonic/pain corruptor.

Methanol. My powerlevelling brute can’t survive out of AE, and he’s only 31.

Neutromancer. Not playing him much.  I may retire him.

Pale Gold.  Level 29 electric/shield scrapper.  Mostly meh.  The RP is very light with him.  I don’t think I’ve RP’ed since the bar one night.

Runeslinger (Blaster-Grim) level 39, pretty much retired.  Dark blast isn’t what it was cracked up to be.  Has a respec available, but dark doesn’t do much damage so I don’t know if it’s even worth it.

Rankis rolled 4/22, level 10.  Might delete, as he was from Lionus’ world.  But I’m still going to make another BS/Shield brute.

Rampant Spider rolled 4/14, level 11.  Slow going, but lots of damage.

Bomber.  Finally got him to vigilante and he went to Grandville to hang out with Scott for a little while.  He’s going to set up a bar in Port Oakes (signed in blood).

Shadow Sedition. level 18.  Tesseract Castle is kind of quiet – I haven’t been paying much attention to them, to be honest.  The controller version seems to be stronger than the dominator version.  Not sure why.

Soniac. level 22.  OMG, what a BORING SET.  I have been spoiled by demons.  Beast mastery does nothing but look cool, but when it comes to damage or anything else – it sucks.  The animals are paper thin, and I hate hearing them whimper when they die.

Siberian Canis, level 38, no rp.

Sonic Express – level 10, rad/sonic corruptor (as opposed to a sonic/rad which was Sounded Fury).  No RP, simply because I have no concept for him.  Her.  It.

Time Illusionist level 23, has just joined The Last Beacon, an SG for wayward metas.  I’m playing him as a mad scientist type, who is very close to his “machines” – so much that he sleeps with them.  He has a mental disorder.  I’m not sure what it is yet, but I put it down that he’s distracted. However, someone else laid claim to that, so I think I’ll have to think of something else.  Maybe hording.

Tammany Hall, level 14.  I’m sorry, I just love the name which is why I’m keeping it.  Otherwise, I have no use for him.

Widow Verdun.  I brought Qualifying Widow back from the dead and rerolled her into a him, and changed his name.  He kicks ass.  Level 38 widow.

Xaron. level 13 Staff/wp stalker.  so good, he’s boring.

Zagrius, Level 17 staff/invul scrapper.  Even better than Xaron.

Xi Feng, was CAL-BRKLY, level 38.  Finished her hero merit, and will change into a vigilante.  No RP for her.

There’s all my toons.  I have a few alts in mind…

Got Bomber to 47, so it’s all downhill from here.  I’m definitely going to incarnate him, keep building him into the baby tank that he is.  I got 4 Mako’s Bite sets in him, a Posi blast, and going to get LoTG going on his Moment of Glory.  He puts out some good damage, and had large bonuses to his defense with these sets.  I tried to concentrate on him this weekend, but…SQUIRREL!  Or, actually, STAFF!

I rerolled Xaron (Charon) as a staff stalker.  Meh.  But then I rolled a character Zagrius (Zagreus) as a scrapper, and OMG.  I love playing that one!  He also looks damn sexah with the Roman armor and Tartarus helmet.  *swoon*  I got Zag up to 14 after 2 DFB’s and one Posi 1.  He looks good solo, so I think I’ll run a few mishes solo.  The sound isn’t all that great, sounding like someone’s hitting a stick on a drum, not the dull, meaty thwack of a stick on flesh.  Eh, I put my music up loud.

Jerry Incubus got 4 levels on a Posi 1, and I got Doc Hoss to 46 after a very grateful team full of suicidal scrappers and controllers.  I didn’t get to run the WTF of the week this weekend.  I’m learning to play the two Posi’s well.

RP, not too much.  I think I forgot to update that last Wednesday, Grim met Harry Dresden.  I still smile at that meeting – the other player handled it well, and Grim was oblivious to the whole Dresdenverse.  “Whaddaya mean you’re the only wizard in Chicago?”

Grim brought Dresden down to his base and showed him the super-secret section because, well, he likes to show off to other mages.  There’s artifacts that he doesn’t know about (I added some stuff there to make it look like a mess.  I need to work on it some more.  I hate base building.).  Dresden said he’d send over a friend of his who could help him figure things out if he wanted.  I’m gonna write a story with those two, because it’s just too good to pass up.

Bomber assisted Danny with his incarnate – damn, Bomber can kick ass.  I found his limit is +2/+3 however.  Anyway, after they didn’t find the Well, Bomber sees Danny’s new costume and…yeah.  No romance here.  I don’t like Bomber’s approach – he likes to dominate, and he uses a whole shitload of profanity ( <grin> ) when he forces things, but that’s his attitude.  When he’s with Emerald it’s different because Emerald gives in and enjoys it.  If it’s someone that might not give in, he forces himself onto them using his compulsion abilities.  I don’t like guys like that, and it makes me uncomfortable to play that out.  Grim’s different; he likes to be gentle and is a little more sensitive to the partner.  Casey just loves Cedric, so what they do is mutual.

Okay, TMI, but that’s part of my playbook.

I was on pretty much most of the weekend, able to do two TF’s, do some housecleaning, and try yet another way of keeping track of my alts.  I’m addicted to index cards, so I dug out the 5×7 index card holder and the boxes full of, shall we say, paper of all types.  Among that are six packages of 5×7 index cards.  Instead of being the crazy lady with twenty cats, I’ll be the crazy lady with thousands of blank notepads.

Anyway!  So here’s who I played:

Bomber, getting him out of villain and into rogue status, heading toward hero and then eventually to Vigilante.

Dirty Pixie, heading over to First Ward.  I with they’d have a TP there.

Casey Blackfox, who was looking for a good half hour for a trial and ended up in Pocket D with Grinn for a little role playing.  Cedric and Casey are going on a trip to Europe where the beaches have “clothing optional, and guess what option I want,” said Cedric.  There’s something else going on with spirits, but Casey’s cool with that.  I later got him on an Ice Minstral TF so he got a Notice if we ever get him to 4th tier.

Bitten Dhampir got on a team and jumped from 24 to 27 in about two hours.

Corvus Bane got on a team also but didn’t get as much.  He’s three bars from 36.  Big whoop.

Neutromancer did some of the DA arc while waiting around for a trial.  People are being very picky about trials these days.

Sorcerer Blades (Mike) played with Danny, and the scene didn’t work out quite the way I had hoped.  I give kudos to boi for playing it through.  I had played it that Mike was a figment of Danny’s imagination, and made some assumptions of Danny’s character that weren’t true.  It kept me up most of the night.

I rolled a new character, Jerry Incubus (fire/thermal corr), who got onto 4 DFB’s in a row and made it up to 13.9 by the end of it.  I did the .1 by myself.  On Sunday I got on an early-morning Posi 2 TF, and he jumped to 18.  I like thermal; it’s one of my favorite power sets.  Because of him I deleted the fire/fire blaster I made last week.

Still on Saturday night, I pulled out Grim Construct who got on a team (lots of teams on after 11 p.m.) and realized he was a rogue.  I didn’t want to change that, but that was okay because they were running Doc Buzzsaw’s arc anyway.  He got maybe half a level before I went to bed at 2 a.m.

Oh, and that’s also because I was listening to a really good book about Katherine of Aragon and Juana of Castile.  And worrying about the train-wreck scene.

Sunday, sunday, sunday…and I pulled out the widow Vertain to do some street hunting.  I like Henri, the other widow because he kicks ass.

I next grabbed Hino Thunder, got him on a team, and realized I didn’t like him.  RP, yes.  Playable, not so much.

And when Hino comes out, next comes Soniac, who got on a team and got oh, so close to 24.

Using the dice and my new random selection method, it rolled for Mercenary Sorcerer, something I hadn’t taken out in a long time.  This is Grim as if he had just left the Thorns.  Yeah, it’s almost as bad as PI, with their future-other-dimensional- robotic-selves story lines.  I don’t play this one for RP.  I play it because I like how the old Grim looks, and I half-miss those days when he was a grumpy turncoat.  I also miss the demon/thermal version of Grim.  I can’t do demons with Grim anymore, even if StarWyng is no longer…but he doesn’t know that.  Yet.

Sorcerer Blades came out again and we salvaged the mess that was last night’s scene, so it all worked out.

I played Feuer for five minutes, decided he was a repeat and deleted him.  I rolled Blut, one of the other characters from my old Zauberen story, but it didn’t work out right so I deleted him, too.

Then I got Pale Gold for half a mission (he’s got some serious end issues) until there was a Numina TF advertised.  Sure, I’ll take it, and brought Bomber for that.  Got him to 46 after all was said and done.

How do I know all this?  I kept track.

I played a few characters this weekend, with mostly trying to get Bomber Villainside to get the patron powers.  I was going to go with Ghost Widow, but Bomber’s not really magical.  If asked, he says he’s a mutant.  So I ran the Black Scorpion ones (remind me not to do those again, because there’s two AV’s involved in that one), and got him a mace instead.  Now he’s on the way back to Paragon to change back to a Vigilante.

In RP terms, Danny came over to help him for a few missions until Bomber was overcome.  After that, he went to try and go back to Paragon but the Quartermaster (yes, the wrong guy) wouldn’t let him.  He met up with a low-level bureaucrat named Henri who said that he’d help him, for a price, of course.  Basically, Henri’s looking for information.  For what, Bomber doesn’t know, and he knows better not to ask.  He won’t give out information on his customers (i.e., the other vampires).  Henri’s not looking for that.  “I have a lack of contacts in Paragon,” he said, and asked Bomber if he could hang out in the bar a bit, get a few drinks, and just listen.  Bomber agreed to that.

So they did a few missions together, and Henri is very well taken (not in that way) with Bomber, in that he’s focused and concentrates on what he needs to do.  Bomber’s not sure what to make of Henri just yet – but he wants to get back to Paragon and get his papers all straightened out so he can come and go as he pleases (Vigilante).

I was able to get Bitten Goth to 25 on a really well-run team (everyone loves speed boost, it seems).  I am still playing using the random dice rolls initially, though if there’s someone on to play with and I’m not on a team, I dump that toon and play something else.  I also created an incubus character that’s “looking for love, not just sex”.  Yeah, we’ll see how well that goes over.

Last night, Scott asked Grim to go to a club with him.  PI was going to be there, he said, would he mind going?  Grim agreed.  They went to the door, and the doorman called them “sexy men.”  When they walked in, it was men.  All men.  Sexy men.  A stud farm.

Grim realized this is what heaven was.

I don’t think PI realized what kind of club it was.  Because by the time I left, only one other PI person was there.  I was chuckling the entire time, thinking that if PI decided to invade, there would be some serious “oopsies”.

Anyway, it was a lot of fun.  There was a lot of “cruising” there, and a couple of people came onto Grim even while Scott was there.  Scott was entranced by one guy’s pierced nipples.  Grim saw an old lover there, Ryder, and was more amused than angry for once.  No, he’s not going to restart anything.  Though Scott said he’d want to watch.  But if I know Ryder…could get interesting and complicated at the same time.

We plan on going back next week with the disco costume contest.  I already have Grim’s outfit picked out.

Quiet. Too Quiet.

Categories: Casual Gaming

Things have been pretty quiet.  I haven’t played many of the dramatic characters last week, though I did create a couple of alts which were reboots: Iron Redcap (the unseelie redcap) and Tammany Hall (Thomas Nash’s cartoon come to life).  Stalkers are amazing now, with some better survivability than my brutes and more damage than them also.  If I play the stalkers, I’m sure I could solo them to 50 on a x2 or even x3 easily.

In RP (this is from memory) the only thing that I remember clearly enough is Danny and Mike for a little bit, and then Danny and Bomber, which brought about an interesting turn of events.  I’m totally bending-to-the-point-of-breaking WoD rules when it comes to those two.

Otherwise, switching through many alts to the point where I randomly roll every time I sit down to the game to see who or what I’m going to play next.

Quote of the night:  “He can suck a golf ball out of a garden hose.”

A big warm welcome to Eeep, who has returned to the game.  Not much changed in his absence, “as I can tell from looking at the portal in the D” he said OOCly to me.

Casey saw him, and walked up to him with a warm hug.  He let Eeep know that he and Cedric are going steady; Nelo’s supposedly married.  Cedric showed up.  Eeep gave Cedric and Casey a silver banana (he’s got a thing for bananas) “to show how special you are to me,” Eeep said.

Then there was going to be a costume contest in the D held by the developers and I got to see Positron, who has all the blaster powers that exist.  Nope, not a godmodder.

After that, I logged onto Shadow Sedition to get him some XP and also get the Midnighter’s Arc done.  Angry Emerald came along, and asked questions of Shadow about what Mike said.  Shadow was threatening at first, refusing to tell Scott about details of his past.  Although I have a backstory prepared for him, the proud mage part refuses.

“Why are you here?” Scott finally asks.

“This is…my…” and he won’t say anything else.

“Penance?” asks Scott.

He nods once, and then turns from him, and speaks.  “We will continue,” he says, and starts walking out.

“This is against your nature,” Scott keeps pressing.

“In general.”  Being altruistic is against his nature.  I have him doing what Mike can do to the nth degree when it comes to getting people to trust him.  Mike used to be able to get people to trust him, and then turn around and stab them in the back.  He doesn’t do that anymore.  But Shadow does, and he does it often.  “Magic’s first tenet is ‘Trust no one’.”

Shadow also does magic (“my works”) skyclad – or here, at least, without a shirt.  He has tons of tattoos of different magical symbols and he’s tattooed everywhere.  I mean EVERYWHERE.

I do want Shadow to meet Danny at some point, because Danny has this aura that Shadow may not be able to resist.

In Paragon, nobody stays dead.  Especially the really good oddball characters that are so much fun to play and have a great backstory.

After the introduction of Dark control, I chose intentionally to not create a dark controller version of Grim.  I like playing Mike as an offensive type, though he needs to be a brute more than a tank.  (Must. Resist.)  I have Ges, a dark dom, but I noticed his character is starting to blur a little with Danny’s, and I don’t want to take that away from him.

Dark controller, yes, with bubbles secondary because I actually like bubbles.  I decided to bring back the Praetorian version of Grim – from the dead.  Story, of course, on 800 Words.

I’d been itching to play him.  Grey Maulkin is a little more crazy than Grim, having pretty much lost his mind after eating the flesh of his demoness.  A lot of it is carried over here, where he will calm all of a sudden and then rant about how great he is, then if distracted from the “Listen to my evil plan” routine, he’d be back to being calm.

I don’t mind toon death for Grey Maulkin, which is why I named the toon Shadow Sedition.  I actually PLAN on this toon dying, and maybe having a shadow pixie take over for him.  Or a reboot of Sunfallen.  Either way, this version isn’t expected to live out the year.

Grey is out to get Mike, but first he had to find him.  He happened to see a newspaper story about Scott   He gave Scott a cock and bull story about how Scott was such a great hero and he wanted to learn from him.  How Grey found him – he knows how to read a newspaper.  He knows enough about computers to be dangerous.  He happened to find a picture of “himself” (i.e. Mike) with Scott, and then did research on Scott.  He found other pictures of Scott and “himself”.  He added two and two – so Scott would know Grim…

He found Scott in a park.  At first, it was amicable, and he was praising Scott, letting him know how important he was.  Yeah, mostly bullshit, just to get to know him.  Then Scott realized who he was.  He hated being called Mike, and that set him off on a blow up, where he tooted his own horn and made himself sound bigger and more powerful than he was.

Oh, and he’s straight.  That’s just weird.

Then he got calm and quiet, and he got Scott’s PR people’s phone number.  I already have a story in mind for that one.  It will be quite amusing.

Scott then told Mike, who was all ready to go find him, kick his ass, and figure out a roundabout way to get him dead.  Scott talked Mike into just watching him, to see what he does.  And Scott can always find him through his PR people.  Then Scott sucker punched Mike and said, “If six months ago I would have told you that you wouldn’t kill anybody, or even that you didn’t want to, what would you think?”  Scott said, “Do you think you’ve…changed?”

Well, son of a bitch, so he has.

Other RP:

Danny met the satyr Doc Hoss, and the two had a long conversation in the woods of Croatoa.  A few things were cleared up for Danny with that.

Grim and Scott have been working together in Croatoa to get threads.

Otherwise, things are quiet and kicking along.

Beast Mastery is here!

I’ve been waiting for this one, having reserved Soniac’s name for it.  In fact, the splash screen gave me an entirely new idea to create her, so I added antlers to her.  She looks very cool.

Anyway, I put it on Grim’s account in case I ever want to two-box her and Casey.  I got her up to level 8 last night, deciding, in embarrassment, that I was going to run the old missions.  That’s right, start from the very beginning, like it was in the old days, starting with the Atlas Park contacts, King’s Row contacts and, *gasp* the Hollows.  Level-in-a-box (Frostfire), here I come!

Masterminds are easy for me to play, so I even bumped it up one at this low level, which is something I never do.  The animations are very cool, and are totally worth the price of admission.  I made her a BM/pain, so it’s REALLY easy for me to play.  After playing something like 3 empathys, I know how to play them.  But the point of this toon is to get the shinies!

The wolves are just an extension of the German Shepard and nothing like the Umbral Beast.  First, they don’t howl as much.  But they’re melee fighters, and don’t let up until the target is dead.  They’re not paper squishy like Ninjas, but they’re not tough, either.  I’m waiting for the third wolf, to see if it has anything special attached to it (like heal or extra damage or whatnot).

Call Hawk is also melee, though the screaming can get on your nerves after a while.  Summon bees is fun, though damage is pretty low.  For shits and giggles, I might throw 3 damage in it just to see if it gets past 3 points of damage.  Call Ravens is awesome looking, and I think is supposed to decrease enemy accuracy, but it didn’t seem to when I was playing.

Now, I say I was embarrassed because I know from experience that EVERYONE and their brother was probably doing BM in the sewer trials, racking up the levels.  I don’t like being lumped in as part of the crowd, but this power set I eagerly anticipated, since I had a character in mind for it.  I also believe that in order to use a MM to its best effect, you need to run missions with it, to see how the pets act.  I wanted to see the beasts in action, not in the bubble of a sewer.

How the heck am I going to explain lions?  Hopefully they’re not the type of lions with a mane, and I can explain them as mountain lions.  Supposedly there were cougars and mountain lions as far north as Maine before becoming extinct there.

Anyway, Soniac has been reborn, with the right powers that belong to her.  Well, I could have made her an Earth or Plant dom, too, but this one’s more fun!

RP:

Poor Danny. Poor Mike.  He’s out of his league here.

I’m not sure, but I think that Danny’s belt is actually a mage in disguise, and Danny is afraid that the belt will change him so much that he won’t be him anymore.  Mike is of the belief that a person’s core beliefs never change.

Mike is an example: He’s always been proud.  He was proud when he first started using magic, and proud now.  He has extra-natural abilities in that he can learn instantly by seeing (photographic memory), can draw/write in minute detail, and can perfectly mimic tone and inflection, but not always pitch (i.e., he can’t imitate someone else’s voice, but he can imitate a woman’s voice).  He was born with these abilities, and during his time with the access to the Akashic records, he had the ability to know any spell, in any language, and be able to use it or create it.  This is why he collects books, to find all those spells all over again.

Anyway, Danny’s upset, and Mike almost hugged him to give him comfort.  I, the player, thought about it, and realized that guys don’t hug each other for comfort.  This is one thing that I’m not sure what the reaction should be.  So Mike did nothing but talk, like he usually does.  And I think Mike is going down the totally wrong road, because I think that the belt was imbued by the mage and carries the essence of that mage, which is different than Danny; and I think Danny will eventually change into that mage.

Again, out of Mike’s league.  Mike is tempted to make the belt sentient – this means bringing Danny into the real part of the warehouse, something he doesn’t like doing, and especially if Danny is going to be a mage, he definitely doesn’t want to bring him back there.  He trusted Tomàs, because he’s not changing into an unknown factor kind of mage.  Danny is.  What if Mike brings him back there and Danny becomes this evil-type mage?  Danny will know his secrets, and might want the warehouse for himself.  Then, Mike will have no recourse but to kill him.  And he would, without any regret whatsoever.

Mike needs to remember that not all mages are as greedy or paranoid as he is.

I decided to start tackling IO’ing some of my 30-40′s, which means Mase is going to have one serious shopping list.  I first started with Anilia (32, ice/dark defender).  She can get level 35 IO’s.  I put some bidding on the items needed, and then I’ll dual box her and Mase.  She’ll hand Mase the stuff, Mase will craft, hand her the enhancements, and we’re good to go.  She’s not good at solo AT ALL.  I’ve been concentrating on making the shields at their max, because I’m a defender doncha know.  I have a Defender’s Bastion that I finally took for her and threw in one of her attack powers.   I may start concentrating on her because she’s, well, kind of cute.

I also miss playing Siberian Canis, my other oddball defender (storm/ice).  He’s at a respectable 37, though how he got there I don’t know.  He’s over a year old, having made him for NOA way back when, when we were half-playing in the World of Darkness universe.  I’ll drag him out tonight and look him over.  He may be a Freedom transfer.

RP:

Rusty (God, haven’t played him in a dog’s age), was out and about at the RWZ, examining the simplistic Vanguard Heavies, when a kid comes up to him and makes a proposition.  Not that kind of proposition!  “If I give you a hundred grand, can you escort me around the War Zone so I can get some readings?”  The kid’s name is Tomàs, and that’s all he’s looking for.  He gives a copy of the readings to Rusty, if he wants to try and use it for his teleportation systems.  (This was the IC reason to get the exploration badges in RWZ while the raid was going on, so we could get the badge on the mothership.  I will admit, it was a neat idea.)

Later, Mike shows up at the warehouse and sees Tomàs writing.  Tomàs is trying to get together some magical readings for locations for anchors to different zones of Paragon City.  (OOCly, he’s already gotten a few for the Warehouses – thanks, Taosin!)  Mike takes him ’round back where his workshop is, and then proceeds to build out of stone and iron, a teleporter to the different zones both Mike and Tomas know (Taosin created them OOCly).  It took a lot out of Mike to do just one.  There are four available.

Guess I should go badge hunting, huh?
